Proceed with caution! That’s the warning we sometimes see on a flashing sign when something dangerous is ahead of us. You come across such signs driving through desert ravines in Arizona's monsoon season. In a summer downpour, those ravines can flash flood and sweep whole vehicles away in the blink of an eye.
Warning signs can be super helpful. In fact, without them, we’d probably find ourselves in trouble far more often—and far more deeply—than we’d like.
How about spiritual dangers? Have you ever wished that there were also warning signs for the times of temptation you face?
This week again in our series Malevolent, we’ll be talking about sin and temptation. And actually, there are warning signs that can help us avoid sin, even when, as God told Cain, it is already “crouching at the door.” Those “flashing signs” are exactly what we’ll be talking about this weekend as we study the sins that ultimately destroyed Cain’s life.
